Bosnian artist Amira Medunjanin held a concert tonight at the Belgrade Sava Center, taking the audience on a journey through time, emotions, and sounds of the Balkans.
The repertoire that combined traditional songs and original songs titled „Homeland“ was a true homage to cultural heritage and contemporary musical expression.
The concert, divided into three segments, began with the song „Dušo moja“ by Kemal Monteno, which evoked emotions among the audience in the Grand Hall. Melodies like „Žute dunje“ and „Tvojte oči, Leno mori“ colored the beginning of the concert with nostalgia and warmth, earning a thunderous applause.
The second part of the concert presented Amira’s artistic vision through original songs and collaborations with renowned lyricists and composers. In songs like „Pjesmom gradim mostove“, „Eh da mi je“, „Damar“, the audience rewarded tradition and modern poetry with ovations.
The third part of the concert was marked by traditional songs such as „Kafu mi draga ispeci“ and „Ajde Jano“, while covers of contemporary hits like „Teške boje“ by Goran Barel and „Od druga druga“ by Milan Šobić had the audience singing along until the last note.
The virtuoso interpretation and carefully curated playlist were rewarded with loud ovations and applause.
The Balkan Billie Holiday, as many call her, returned to the Serbian capital tonight, three years after her triple concert at the MTS Arena in November 2021.
The performance was organized by the promotional company Long Play.
