Zoran Anđelković, appointed as the acting director of Serbian Post, announced today that next week the company will fulfill the promise given to the employees and pay out the profits made during 2023. He also added that efforts will be made to improve working conditions for all employees.
Anđelković emphasized that Serbian Post offices are the most widespread with the fastest service, making them the best and most reliable partners for both citizens and companies.
„Posts, like churches and municipalities, are necessary in every place and local community to serve citizens, especially in small communities. I believe that we will improve cooperation with citizens and employees, of which there are about 15,000,“ he said.
Speaking about the increasing competition in our country, Anđelković noted that Serbian Post is competitive, with a significant advantage being the number of branches throughout Serbia. He also highlighted the importance of service quality, claiming it is reliable, safe, and fast.
„The Post has about 2,000 delivery vehicles, as well as 150 electric vehicles used for transportation, and we will certainly strive to procure more vehicles, especially electric ones, in the future,“ Anđelković said.
According to him, the strike and work stoppage by Serbian Post employees have led to significant losses, including important clients, underscoring the importance of unions and discussions with employees.
„Unions should fight for better working conditions. They are actually the main negotiators when collective agreements are signed, so all other conditions and incomes should also be discussed. When I say conditions, I don’t just mean what kind of chairs, motorcycles or cars they have, but also about incomes. That is why unions are important in companies, but, of course, we must also fight against abuses,“ Anđelković said.
He said that Serbian Post has two to three significant unions in terms of the number of members, and there are also smaller unions that have a significant influence, so he will talk to everyone despite possible disagreements because, as he emphasized, it should be in everyone’s interest for the company to succeed.
