Irish airline „Ryanair“ has announced the cancellation of over 300 flights due to upcoming air traffic controllers’ protests in France and called on the European Commission to force France to protect aircraft flying over its territory.
In a statement, the company said that flights were canceled due to „France’s failure to protect aircraft overflights“ during air traffic controller strikes and added that „French laws unfairly protect domestic flights, meaning that French flights are protected while non-French flights are canceled“.
The company emphasized that the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has not protected these overflights for five years.
