„Dunav je moje more“ is a short documentary film that develops through intuitive dramaturgy, where actor Darko Perić takes us through the megalopolises around Kladovo, the place that shaped him.
This film is imbued with a deep emotion of returning to the homeland, to the space where the first thoughts and memories were formed. Darko manages to avoid the pathos that often accompanies the meeting with one’s hometown and instead, through his eyes as a world traveler and adventurer, he conveys to us the experience of Kladovo and its surroundings.
Each frame exudes nostalgia, but also a refreshing perspective, where Kladovo becomes much more than a simple geographical concept — it becomes a meeting place of the past and present, tradition and modernity, intimacy and universality.
Darko Perić, actor and screenwriter, was born in Serbia on March 25, 1977 in Kladovo. He began his professional career in Spain in 2008, starring in TV series. Before that, he lived in Serbia, Romania, and Germany (Berlin), where he acted in numerous independent short films and theater performances.
His first major role was in the Spanish series „Crematorio“ for Canal Plus in 2010. After that, he continued to work in Madrid on various productions, from different series to feature films.
In 2015, he starred in the film „A Perfect Day“ directed by Fernando León de Aranoa, along with Benicio del Toro and Tim Robbins. In 2016, he got a role in the Spanish series „Mar de Plástico“ for Atresmedia, where he played the role of „Oso“, the main villain in the series.
This role represented a turning point in his career and brought him greater visibility in the Spanish film industry. Darko Perić got the role of Helsinki in the series originally called „La Casa de Papel“ or „Money Heist“ as it is known in English to the public in 2017.
The series was created by Álex Pina, and originally produced by Atresmedia until 2016 when Netflix acquired the rights to broadcast the series and distributed it through its streaming platform worldwide.
„Money Heist“ became the most successful Netflix production, and in 2018 the Spanish series won the award for Best Drama at the 46th annual International Emmy Awards.
