The Public Prosecutor’s Office spoke out
After learning from the media that 12 children were admitted to the Military Medical Academy (VMA) in a severely intoxicated state last night, the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade formed a case to determine all the circumstances of this case.
The Chief Public Prosecutor of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, Nenad Stefanović, ordered that the responsible persons be identified and that the necessary information be collected in cooperation with the police, after which a decision will be made on the qualification of the criminal offense and the prosecution of the perpetrators.
The club spoke out
The club „Sinner“ has just issued a statement on this occasion:
„Club Sinner was rented for a private celebration last night. The club management has no connection with last night’s events. We express regret and concern over the unwanted events in this way,“ the statement on Instagram said.
It was learned that alcohol poisoning occurred this morning when a doctor from VMA where the children were treated spoke about it
The doctor of the Emergency Center of VMA, Primarius Dr. Ivan Lekovic said for RTS that a total of 26 intoxicated children were admitted, 12 of whom were in a severely intoxicated state with up to 2.8 per mille of alcohol in their blood.
– This is a serious condition, it is worrying that minors come in such a severe condition – said Dr. Lekovic.
This is a very worrying case and it is necessary to determine all the circumstances and liable persons in order to prevent similar situations in the future. The investigation should reveal how alcohol poisoning occurred and who is responsible for it. Also, it is important to establish stricter controls and security measures at alcohol-related events to protect children from such unwanted events.
According to the statement from the club „Sinner“, the club was rented for a private celebration, but the club management was not involved in last night’s events. However, it is important to investigate whether the club has complied with all prescribed procedures and safety measures to prevent the possibility of alcohol poisoning of children at such type of celebration.
This event has disturbed the public, but it is also important to emphasize that children received timely medical assistance and their full recovery is expected. However, such events must be taken seriously and appropriate measures must be taken to reduce the possibility of repeating the same.
We hope that the investigation into this case will lead to appropriate conclusions and recommendations for future measures to prevent alcohol poisoning of children. It is important to take into account the safety of children at such events and to establish clear regulations and measures to protect children from such unpleasant situations.
