Jedan en British photographer noticed that someone, instead of him, was tidying up the mess in his workshop and decided to leave the camera on to „catch the culprit in action“. He was surprised when he saw a mouse in the morning, putting scattered things back in their place.
Rodni Holbrook (75) from Wales has been startled for months how the things he leaves on his desk change places by morning.
However, it was only when the food he planned to leave for the birds ended up in old shoes in the shed that he decided to set up a camera with night vision.
„I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the mouse tidying up,“ Holbrook said for BBC.
The footage showed a diligent rodent collecting caps, nails, and screws and neatly stacking them in a box on the desk.
„He put in various things, pieces of plastic, walnuts, screws … I don’t even try to tidy up anymore, because I know he will do it. As soon as I leave things outside the box, by morning he returns them. In 99 out of 100 cases, the mouse will tidy everything up during the night,“ the photographer said.
This cute rodent reminded many Internet users of the main character in the animated film „Ratatouille“, in which a rat named Remy dreams of becoming a famous chef. Through a twist of fate, he ends up in the sewer, directly below the restaurant where his culinary idol works, and secretly starts helping his young assistant to make various specialties.
Interestingly, a similar diligent mouse was filmed in 2019, in a shed near Bristol, tidying up things.
Its owner, Steve Meekers, told reporters at the time that he „thought he was crazy“ because screws and other objects kept appearing in the bird food bowl. It turned out that the smart rodents were actually trying to hide the food from others, piling various objects on top of it.
