The Public Utility Company „Zelenilo – Beograd“ invites citizens who have decided to decorate their homes with a live Christmas tree, which they can no longer plant, to bring it to the nurseries located at Vojvode Stepe 405 in Voždovac or at Marije Bursać bb in Zemun, by Friday, January 26th at the latest, the company announced.
The trees will be planted by the teams of this company on one of the public green areas as part of the traditional action of planting Christmas trees. With this action, the Public Utility Company „Zelenilo – Beograd“ stresses the importance of returning fir trees to nature, prolonging the life of conifers, while at the same time affecting the increase of green areas in the capital. In addition, the planting will enrich the space and beautify the environment.
Residents who have the opportunity can also plant the trees in their yards, taking into account that the trees will grow into high trees in the coming years, so they must carefully choose the planting place. Also, care must be taken that the saplings are not planted too close to the building or above ground installations, it is stated in the announcement.
